Meet Scott Hertzog
Drone C.A.T.S. — Creative And Technical Services — brings together Scott Hertzog’s lifelong interest in photography, video production, marketing, technical problem-solving, and helping people achieve their goals.
Based in Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania, Scott is an FAA Part 107 certificated commercial drone pilot and the photographer behind Scott Hertzog Photography.
His interest in photography began in the 1970s, when shooting film taught him to pay close attention to light, composition, and camera settings before pressing the shutter. That blend of creative judgment and technical care continues to guide his work today.

AUVSI Trusted Operator™ — Level 1
Scott holds an AUVSI Trusted Operator™ Level 1 pilot credential in addition to his FAA Part 107 remote pilot certificate. AUVSI’s program uses defined industry protocols covering pilot knowledge, skills, operating practices, and professionalism. Level 1 focuses on routine operations that do not require a Part 107 waiver.
Experience that puts your project first
Before expanding his photography and drone work, Scott spent more than 43 years managing and co-owning a multi-million dollar family business sold in 2021. During that time, the company earned the People’s Choice of Berks County award for 22 consecutive years.
That experience shaped a straightforward approach to client service: listen carefully, understand the purpose of the project, and deliver work that helps the client move forward.
Through Drone C.A.T.S., Scott applies that approach to aerial photography and video, storm damage documentation, roof imaging, and construction progress imagery. Each project starts with a conversation about what you need to see, document, or communicate.
Emergency services & community

Scott serves as president, board chairman, and drone unit leader for Berks County Search and Rescue, Station 2.
He is also a hazardous materials (hazmat) and radiological response technician with the County of Berks Department of Emergency Services, Special Operations Group.
These roles bring a practical perspective to Drone C.A.T.S.: preparation, clear communication, teamwork, and attention to detail matter.
He also enjoys helping new pilots understand their aircraft and develop thoughtful flying habits, combining technical instruction with lessons from his own experience.
The tools behind the view
Scott primarily flies the DJI Mavic 4 Pro Creator Combo. For Scott, the aircraft is simply a tool. What drives the work is understanding your project, choosing purposeful viewpoints, and creating images with a clear reason to exist. He has extensive experience with DJI platforms, including the Matrice 30T, Matrice 300, Mavic 3 Enterprise, Air 2, Mini 2, and Mavic 3, and he knows how to use each one to capture the imagery you need.
